Discover the features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wood floors are divided into two main categories: <strong>single-layer parquet and prefinished parquet with two or three layers.<\/strong> The former, made of <strong>solid wood<\/strong>, differ from multilayer ones because they consist <strong>of a single layer of noble wood<\/strong>, with a regular thickness and consistent profile.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, <strong>two-layer parquet<\/strong> is made with a solid wood surface glued to a base of <strong>spruce<\/strong> or <strong>birch<\/strong>, while <strong>three-layer parquet<\/strong> consists of a top layer, <strong>a central core<\/strong> made of materials like spruce, and a bottom layer of spruce veneer or other materials like ash, called <strong>counterbalance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>By law, we can fully refer to parquet only when a wooden floor has specific characteristics: a <strong>noble layer thickness of no less than 2.5 millimeters<\/strong>, which can reach up to 4 millimeters, and is glued to a base of low-grade wood, such as <strong>spruce veneer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>The thicknesses of prefinished parquet<\/h2>\n<p>Birch is considered the ideal support for maximum stability; spruce and poplar are the most common due to their versatility, easily adapting to underfloor heating with controlled temperature and for the <strong>good quality-to-price ratio<\/strong>. Generally, the thicknesses of traditional parquet range from 10 to 22 millimeters, while those of <strong>prefinished parquet<\/strong>, the class to which our <strong>Silm, Dream, and Signature<\/strong> collections belong, range from <strong>10 to 20 millimeters<\/strong>, with a <strong>noble layer varying from 2.5 to 4 millimeters<\/strong>. Typically, <strong>three-layer floors<\/strong> are larger than two-layer ones and are suitable for both <strong>floating installation<\/strong> and <strong>glued installation<\/strong>, which is recommended to ensure maximum stability and durability for two-layer parquet.
